Labor Day

We had a great day hiking up to Donut Falls. We were joined by Ali, Martha, Johanna, Kippy, and cousin Lindsay. There were a lot of people that had the same idea as us, but we were lucky to find a great parking spot right at the start of the trail head (Which is the most important thing when your going on a hike. You must conserve you energy for the determined task!).
We found the same tree that we carved our names into in 2007. Look just above our heads in the picture of us in front of the tree...oh cute...
The kids did great and loved enjoying the dirt, rocks, and water.

Time to Relax

In between all of the fun and work we did manage to find a little time to just relax. Arlo surprised us one night by just making a jump for it and landing in the hot tub with us. Apparently he loves to swim and he's pretty good at it too!

I love spending late Sunday afternoons at Martha's. That's me with my favorite blanket just lounging.

Big Move

Cole and I moved! No more duplex...we are now in a home. Thank you to all the muscle's that helped us get to our fabulous new place! We had everyone from the heavy lifting men to the prego sister to the little hands of a precious 3 year old. All the hands were much needed and we are so grateful that we got it all done in one day and one big truck load.

Happy 24th of July

I loved having you all over for a great 24th of July BBQ! I am so glad that we now have a home/yard big enough to have everyone here. My favorite thing is having both of our families together at the same time. The giant slip'n slide was a big hit and the fireworks from the city couldn't have been more perfect! They were exploding high in the sky about a block away. You are all invited again next year.

Reunion Continued..

The weekend continued at the Whitby ranch... It was Father's Day that weekend and Aunt Liz organized everyone to make a T-shirt for Bones (Grandpa Al).
We also had a great time trap shooting, four-wheeling, and eating!

Family Reunion Time

The summer started out great with a Martin Family Reunion. The long weekend started with a day at the beach. We had water, sunscreen, and great food to munch on. It was a little chilly, but somehow Cole managed to get a wicked sunburn from the knee's down.

We're Back....

After taking the summer off, it is definitely time to update you on all the great things that happened this summer. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Johanna!

Friday, June 12th was Johanna's 3rd birthday! Jo and Whitney brought her into the spa so I could give her a manicure and pedicure for her big day. It was so much fun and she was so happy. As soon as she could see the pink sparkly nail polish on her toe nails she began to shake with excitement.

We had a great dinner to celebrate at Gobbie's house where she received her fabulous gifts...the princess outfit was from Cole and I (of course)!

Happy Birthday Me!

Thank you all so much for the great Birthday I had! This picture is from a great evening at my moms house she put together a wonderful birthday dinner for my sister Stacey and I. My mom got my favorite cake for me from Schmidt's Bakery, mint chocolate!
I had to work on my birthday, but everyone made fun. Stacey took me out to lunch before than came in for a pedicure, I also had one of her darling friends come in, Shelby, and she brought me a giant and delicious piece of chocolate cake ( I ate it as my dinner, what a way to spoil yourself on your birthday, huh?!). Martha also stopped by with my birthday gift from her and Ali and to top the day off my sister Mindi was my last client of the day. Its never a bad day at work when you get to visit with family and friends and everyone brings you in something fun!

Air Show

Cole and I went to the air show that the Air Force put on at Hill Air Force Base last weekend. This is a picture of Cole realizing the he could never be a Black Hawk Helicopter pilot because he simply doesn't fit in the cockpit...so sad. The plane we are standing in front of (Bones, please correct me if I'm wrong)is the same model as the one Cole's Grandpa flew when he was in the Air Force.
It was really fun to see the new F-22 and a lot of other fighter jets flying around. It was really loud too!

Series 7 Test

Cole was able to take his Series 7 Licensing test last week and with no surprise he did well above average. To pass the test you need to achieve a score of 70 and our Cole received a 90! He has the highest score in his whole office except for one person...the CEO got a 91. They celebrated his victory with cake, balloons and a few good pats on the back. He is already studying for the next test that he will be taking in a couple of weeks.

He's Graduated!

Cole has finished his bachelors degree after much hard work! Graduation was Friday evening and his celebration dinner followed on Saturday. It was pretty easy to spot the genius giant out of the sea of graduates. Thank you all so much for the loving cards and phone calls that he has been receiving all month! He has put so much effort into graduating with the honors and continues to work hard toward graduate school in a couple years.

Today Cole took his last final and to celebrate we washed our cars. We are really exciting aren't we?! Arlo helped out by staying in the shade under the car while soap dripped on his head. I am loving these 70 degree days. It is so nice to be able to be outside and not be freezing. I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine! Before you know it we'll be begging for 60 degree whether. A few more degrees and it will be pool time.

Monday with McKay

Every Monday I watch my nephews, Tyler, Preston, and McKay. I have never left there without a funny/cute story to tell Cole when I get home. This last Monday I was feeding the little man with the big appetite, McKay. I would give him a spoonful of food and then he would stick out his tongue to his top lip after every bite. It was so cute I just had to take a picture :)

Pay Attention to Me!

Every now and then I get in a weird mood, some (Cole) may call it annoying but, I call it playful. It usually ends up with Cole laughing and half serious telling me to stop it or I have to sleep in the guest bedroom. I was in one of those moods tonight which is why I have been banished to the computer. Cole was studying for one of his finals and I guess you could say I needed some attention. I just wanted to cuddle like any newlywed but Cole was focused and not having any of it. I admit I would have probably been annoyed if someone kept nudging my hand when I was trying to highlight some important information or talking to me when I was trying to read, but come on, what is more important.. graduating with a 4.0 or a happy wife? Don't answer that Cole ;)

I was finally able to bribe a kiss when he remembered a story he wanted to tell me. I wouldn't let him tell me until he kissed me for at least 10 seconds...Then along comes Arlo...He doesn't like to miss out on anything so as soon as we were quiet for more than a second he began to climb my back to get his little face in the action. Cole began to laugh and in doing so his forehead hit nicely into my front tooth. Ouch! I think we need to get Arlo a girlfriend. I dont have dental insurance.

Bath Time

We don't have any kids yet so you will just have to see pictures of our dog Arlo. He is a big source of entertainment for us and I hope he makes you laugh!
We gave him a bath and found out that under all that fluff his little body closely resembles that of a large rat...but, somehow is still so cute. He wouldn't stop drinking the water even after it got all soapy.

Cole is Graduating

Just in case you didn't already know, Cole is graduating from the University of Utah on May 8! It is widely known what a over achiever he is and it shows with his perfect 4.0 that he will be graduating with. He would never settle for anything less.

His studying days are not over yet... He is working hard studying for his Series 7 license, then on to his Series 6. After that he is planning on taking the GMAT for MBA school.

After Cole completes his licensing he will begin his new job at First Western Advisors. The job market is tough in finance right now and I am so proud of him being able to find a job.
